Diocese of Recife endorses Jerusalem Declaration, applauds Anglican Church in North America
PRESS RELEASE
On 4th. – 6th. December, in a spirit of prayer and unity, the Diocese of Recife, under its diocesan bishop Robinson Cavalcanti met together at Jaboatão dos Guararapes – PE, for its XXVIII Diocesan Convention. Bishop Donald Harvey represented Primate Gregory Venables, also bringing greetings from the Anglican Network in Canada. In addition to miscellaneous internal matters, the Convention voted unanimously:
1). To endorse the Jerusalem Declaration as a standard of Anglican orthodoxy.
2).To take the necessary steps to affiliate the Diocese of Recife to the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans.
3). To express its heartfelt thanks to the GAFCON primates for their encouragement, sacrificial work and partnership in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
4). To applaud the creation of the Anglican Church in North America, and its efforts to stand firm for the apostolic faith and propagate the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Convention concluded in festive mood with the ordination of Pamela Schmaling.
