Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary ( in the West) Feast of the Conception by St Anne of the Holy Theotokos ( In the East)
On this day in Advent the Church in the East and the West takes pause to ponder the witness of Mary! Before the foundation of the world God chose Mary and gave her the vocation of theotokos. From generation to generation as promise Mary has been called blessed. Her openness to say to God “May it be done to me according to your word. This Fiat! offers to us in advent a model for saying yes to the will of the Father.
PRAYER: Hail Mary, Full of Grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, pray for us so that your Son may be born anew in us the Advent and coming Christmas.
Activity –Look for the miraculous today . The miraculous is God’s breaking in to our ordering of things. What miracles can you be a vehicle for nu being an agent of , reconciliation or making your own change of heart. Try to take these steps and see God’s grace as breaking in to life all around you each day.
