Canon Gregory Cameron to be new Bishop of St Asaph
Jan 5 2009 By Tom Simone
THE next Bishop of St Aspah is Canon Gregory Cameron.
Currently the Deputy Secretary General of the Anglican Communion Canon Cameron was elected by a college of 47 people, which included the five other Welsh diocesan bishops, who were locked into the cathedral earlier today.
The election follows the retirement in December of the Rt Rev John Davies, who served as bishop from 1999.
Canon Cameron becomes the 76th Bishop of St Asaph, an area covering the counties of Conwy and Flintshire, Wrexham county, the eastern part of Merionnydd in Gwynedd and part of northern Powys.
