WEDNESDAY – The Saints, Martyrs and Missionaries of
The author of Second Peter urges us to remember the truth (3:1-2). Every Christian needs to be reminded of the need for holy living and thinking. Peter wants us to remember and apply to our lives what the Old Testament prophets said long ago and what the Lord Jesus commanded through the apostles. We never outgrow the need for reminders On this day when the church commemorates the Martys and Missionaries of Asia, and in particular Francis Xavier, we recall how Peters words were lived out by these holy men and women who never forgot that the Lord being patient for our sake. He doesn’t want anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent.
PRAYER: Lord our God, grant that we may be bold to proclaim Christ, so that when he comes in glory to share with his own the banquet of heaven, we may be partakers. We ask this in the with the One who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit.
