A video urging Christians to protest against the Government’s Equality Bill is to be screened in churches this weekend.

The three-minute film calls on churchgoers to lodge complaints about measures in the Bill that could prevent religious organisations from discriminating against gay job applicants.

The evangelical organisation Christian Concern for our Nation, which produced the new video, described it as a ‘three-minute warning’ to all Christians.

Director Andrea Minichiello-Williams said the new legislation would ban churches from discriminating against gay job applicants in a number of ‘sensitive’ areas, including the employment of youth workers.

Religious organisations which sacked a gay worker because of his or sexuality could be hauled before employment tribunals and fined.
