Tomorrow though will be the first real test of whether he can make it work, when Synod comes to debate Lorna Ashworth's motion calling on the Church of England to recognise the Anglican Church in North America. She told me that such recognition would send a powerful signal across the Atlantic, even if it carried with it no effective power to bring ACNA into the Communion.
