The Hope Award for Effective Compassion
Since 2006, WORLD Magazine has recognized small organizations that work in big ways to help those in need.For the 2010 Hope Award for Effective Compassion competition, we are announcing one winner and two other finalists in each of four regions: West, Midwest, South, and Northeast. These organizations are to be recognized and honored at regional Hope Award Dinners across the country. The American Bible Society, co-sponsor of this contest, will provide cash prizes to the regional and national winners. Between now and July, we will provide links to written and video profiles of all 12 finalists. We hope that such coverage will spotlight the work of these organizations and suggest to others the opportunity to go and do likewise. Read more
