Tv adverts for abortion services
The first TV advert for abortion services was shown on Monday evening on Channel 4. The advert, from Marie Stopes International, does not mention abortion by name and encourages women who may be pregnant to give them a call. Many of our supporters called Marie Stopes and discovered that rather than being given pregnancy advice, they were encouraged to pay for a consultation and were told that Marie Stopes only offer termination of pregnancy. Those stating that they wanted to continue with their pregnancy were directed elsewhere.Many more of these adverts are being planned for June and beyond.
