Police force displays rainbow stickers at front desks to promote ‘diversity’

North Wales Police have announced that it will now be displaying rainbow stickers at the front desks of all its’ police stations as a sign of their “commitment to the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community.”

PC Manus Sheridan of the North Wales Police Gay Police Association, said: “Some individuals, for a number of reasons, may feel apprehensive of approaching the police to report incidents.

“It is essential that all members of the community feel confident enough to enter our stations to report any incident, whatever background they are from.

“This initiative is a further sign of our commitment to the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community that NWP are here and can be trusted to deliver our service without prejudice.”

The head of diversity development at North Wales Police, Greg George, further commented: “The force is committed to tackling all crimes including homophobic hate crime and the stickers, which will be placed in all front counter areas, are a further symbol of our pledge.”

In response to the news, Andrea Williams said:

“What would happen if North Wales Police had decided instead to display a cross at each of their stations? Such a move would be swiftly condemned by the politically correct lobby.
